The standard way to design car-fragrance packaging is to put the scent name on the front, a freshness duration claim on the corner, and call it done. That works in a category where consumers don't think much about their choice. Car fragrance isn't that category. A car is a personal space — and the scent inside it is, for many drivers, an extension of the version of themselves they want their drive to feel like. The cheerful daily-commute version. The after-work decompression version. The clean, considered, everyday-utility version. Most shoppers won't articulate it that way out loud, but they pick the variant that matches it instinctively. So the smartest car-fragrance pack design isn't built around the scent — it's built around which version of the driver the variant is for.

The full system in context — three Glade Vent Clip variants paired with their matching Refills. Crisp Green Apple & Peach, Lavender & Cedarwood, Peppermint & Sandalwood — three moods, three drives, one combined pack-and-refill system running up to 90 days.

For Glade Essences Elite Vent Clip, we built the range architecture around exactly that insight. Each variant carries the same Glade Essences Elite premium-fragrance signature — illustrated florals, woods, leaves, and fruit on a deep tonal background — but every pack includes a literal car illustration at the base, colour-coded to the variant's mood. The cheerful Crisp Green Apple & Peach is the bright daily commuter. The calming Lavender & Cedarwood is the after-work decompression. The clean Peppermint & Sandalwood is the everyday-utility driver. The shopper at a petrol station car-care peg-rack doesn't have to decode the scent — they recognise the mood in a glance.

The pack architecture extends across a deliberately commercial system: a Vent Clip pack (the unit itself with one initial fragrance refill) sold alongside a matching Refill pack (two additional refills for the same unit). The two packs are visually unified by palette and illustration but commercially distinct — the Vent Clip onboards the shopper into the system, the Refill keeps them inside it. Bilingual English and Vietnamese front-of-pack copy gives the pack the local trust layer the English brand mark alone can't carry. As a creative agency in Kuala Lumpur producing cross-border work across Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Southeast Asia, we designed every pack in the system to earn its three seconds at the peg-rack and the second purchase six weeks later.
